Physical Therapy for Sciatica in Winston-Salem, NC

Stop Letting Sciatica Run the Show

People come to us when sciatic pain keeps interrupting their training and rest alone hasn't fixed it. We find the root cause and build a plan to get you back under load.

What Happens When Sciatic Pain Goes Unaddressed or Gets the Wrong Fix

You Cut Lifts and Skip Runs

You're adjusting every session around the pain, but the root cause isn't going away on its own.

The Flare-Ups Keep Returning

Passive relief calms the pain, but it doesn't fix the mechanics driving it. So the cycle keeps repeating.

You're Told to Rest and Wait It Out

Telling someone who trains to just rest and stretch doesn't address why the nerve keeps getting irritated under load.

What People Say About Working with KPR on Sciatica

People dealing with sciatica need specialists who understand how nerve pain affects active people and what it takes to fix it for good.

I wouldn’t trust the care of my knee in anyone else’s hands! Lauren has been amazing! Very personable and friendly!
SEAHO Past President
Levi Kerby is the best! I had an initial phone conversation with him the day after a surgeon told me that surgery was my best (only) option for a torn labrum. I didn't understand much that the surgeon said to me while he was rushing through my appointment. Levi took the time to listen to me, explain my MRI results, and discuss other options. He understood my injury, my goals, my hesitations, and gave me realistic expectations. I have left each session with Levi feeling better and understanding more about how my shoulder works and how to strengthen and protect it in the future. Levi has my highest recommendation as a person and as a Physical Therapist. Kinetic Performance & Rehab has me back in the gym doing things I love!

Dr. Levi is the best, he worked with me to solve all of my issues and trained me to prevent future injuries. I can't recommend him enough!

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about physical therapy for sciatica in Winston-Salem and what to expect at KPR.

How is PT different from just resting my sciatica?

Rest can settle the irritation temporarily, but it doesn't address the mechanics or loading patterns that triggered it. Physical therapy identifies what's driving your symptoms, whether that's hip mobility, lumbar movement, or training technique, and builds a plan to fix it so the flare-ups stop coming back.

Can I keep training while I deal with sciatica?

Most people can. We'll assess which movements are aggravating the nerve and modify your training accordingly. The goal is to keep you active while the underlying issue gets addressed, not bench you for weeks while things calm down on their own.

What makes sciatica keep coming back?

Recurring sciatica usually comes from incomplete rehab. The pain resolves but the movement pattern or loading issue that triggered it never gets corrected. We address the root cause directly so flare-ups stop being a regular part of your training cycle.

Does KPR take insurance for sciatica treatment?

We're in-network with Aetna. For all other insurance, we're out-of-network and can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits. We also accept HSA and FSA, and offer payment plans for cash-pay visits.

Do I need a referral to get started?

No. North Carolina allows direct access to physical therapy, so you can schedule with us without seeing a physician first. Just fill out the contact form and we'll reach out to schedule your evaluation and answer any questions about your situation.
