stay in the game for decades, not just patch them up for a few weeks.
Kinetic Performance and Rehab exists because too many athletes get stuck in the injury cycle, pain shows up, they modify everything, rest doesn't fix it, and eventually they're told to stop doing what they love. We built a clinic for people who refuse to accept that answer.

Why We Started KPR
Most physical therapy clinics treat active adults the same way they treat everyone else, generic protocols, rushed appointments, and advice that doesn't account for what it actually takes to train consistently. If you've ever been told to "just rest" or "stop exercising for a while," you know exactly what we're talking about.
How We Actually Help You Get Back to Training
We follow a three-phase model called the I3 progression: Injury → Incomplete Mechanics → Incidents. This isn't just a tagline, it's how we structure every plan so you don't just feel better for a week and then end up right back where you started.
Assess & Calm the Injury
We figure out what's actually going on and reduce the immediate pain or limitation so you can start moving again without constant fear.
Fix Incomplete Mechanics
Most pain comes back because the underlying movement patterns, strength gaps, or mobility restrictions never got addressed. We fix those so your body can handle training volume.
Build Incident-Ready Performance
This phase prepares you for the demands of real training, progressive loading, sport-specific movements, and a plan to keep you strong for the long haul.
Our team
Orthopedic Clinical Specialists who train hard and understand what it takes to stay in the game.

I am a native West Virginian (I'm sure you've got jokes), an outdoors/fly fishing enthusiast, guitarist, and Crossfitter. I grew up on a rural farm and spent my time playing various sports and being outside. I've always known and appreciated the value in being physically able to do the things I love.
This translated to me earning my Doctorate from Marshall University in 2017. Given my interests in performance and active living, I have worked to become an Orthopedic Certified Specialist, the highest orthopedic designation recognized by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. After working 4+ years in the field, I became frustrated seeing people pushed through traditional clinics like human assembly lines. Out of this, Kinetic Performance and Rehab was born.

Karly is a NC native who has called Winston home since 2024. She studied at UNC Charlotte before earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She then completed an 18 month orthopedic residency studying advanced orthopedic evaluation and treatment techniques which earned her the title of Orthopedic Clinical Specialist.
She joined the KPR team because she is passionate about the mission of helping people “train for life”.
When she’s not helping people crush rehab you’ll find her lifting, watching or talking sports, or spending time with her pups.
